Daniel Jones, a founding member of the local history group History & Memories. Daniel, has a family history in Benada that stretches back to the 16th century, it is therefore no surprise that he has an interest in the annals and records of the parish and the mission of the group to collect and record the history of Kilmactigue.

Marie Fleming, a primary school teacher with a life- long passion for history in particular her local history. Marie’s roots are firmly planted in the soil of Kilmactigue, she is passionate about the collecting, recording and preserving the history of this very historic parish. Last year she realised a life-long dream with the publication of the successful History & Memories Vol.1

Padraig Maye, Aclare, is a retired secondary school teacher, his teaching career began in Nigeria and then Chicago and finally in Banada Abbey. Over the years he has acquired a great interest in local history. In addition to this he has become a well-known athlete in many categories such as athletics, football and handball.
